Strange Draft Order

I just started using 2007 and I have noticed that when I finish a season, the draft order is staggered. It seems the last three or four teams have all of their picks in the right slots, but all the others seem to be staggered with the two or three around them. In other words, if I draft 20 in the first round, ill draft 21 in round 2 and 22 in round 3, then back to 20 or 19 in round 4 and it will go up by one each round after. I suppose this is purposeful for balance? It frustrates me not having all my picks at the same spot, but if there is a good reason, I can live with it. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Thanks,
Tristan

Welcome to the board! There's lots of info here about the game, and lots of knowledgeable people. Also, don't forget to check the in-game Help File, accessed by pressing F1 from any screen for context-specific help. Here's some draft order info.

Thanks SkyDog.

That answers my question, guess I'll just have to live with it. Otherwise love the game. I love the UI updates from 2004. I have to open and close far fewer boxes, which my finger greatly appreciates.

Oh, and the reason for doing it that way is that it is done that way in the NFL.

Welcome!

And as Skydog says, this is actually a nice added feature put in so the draft is more realistic (at least as far as replicating the NFL).
