Salary Cap

We are soon to start over at SHIBA and we were tweaking league settings and we were wondering about salary cap.

Has anyone set it to not increase? If so, did you notice anything odd in future years?

Yes, yes, this would be good to know. (BTW, 'Shiba' isn't an acronym )

The AI couldn't handle it in solo (seemed to have a lot of teams in alot of trouble - it never caught on as the AI kept giving it's normal year to year pay increases to players), but as far as MP. I'd guess it could. The rookie salaries would still inflate at the same rate (as in my experience the AI doesn't account for future finances); so that could be a little headache - but the players would *hopefully* improve each year to make them worth it.

If we are considering it over there, I'd be in favor. Would be interesting.

I was under the assumption that no salary cap increase would have to make the salaries not go up. Otherwise, you would eventually only be able to afford like 1 player. ??

Well, yes and no. The starting point for salaries stayed the same - but the AI still offered hefty raises in annual salaries.

IE .. #1 draft choice - 1.02 million year 1; 4.04 million year 6.

Top FA signing - .68 year 1 year 1; 9.76 mil year 5.

So, in the test season I ran - the escalating salaries & the non escalating caps caused a problem.
