R.I.P Bam Bam Bigelow

http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=22448&p=1

i always thought of him as a pretty good wrestler...he always played his role well and really set the bar for the "agile fat guy" type.

everyone i ever knew that met him (which was quite a lot of people i knew going to college 10 minutes from asbury park) all said he was a really nice guy.

nothing in the article on cause of death though.

Dammit, it is so sad to see all of these wrestlers just dropping dead like this. (It's still real to me, dammit!) Bam Bam was one of my favorites, too, because he was one of the few big guys that didn't just loaf around the ring. When he was young he busted his ass. I seem to recall that he caught a bunch of shit for doing the job for LT and it really bothered him.

And wasn't the angle about his retirement that he was badly burned in a fire trying to resuce some kid? At least that's what I remember Tony Schiovane saying on WCW Nitro. I'll hafta check my tapes.

Godspeed, Bam Bam.

The rash of Von Erich suicides/tragic deaths kind of numbed me to wresting deaths. It is sad whenever one of the guys you saw competing on TV dies however.

Bam Bam was my favorite wrestler when I was a kid. Sad to see him go.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was related to his oxycodone addiction

Bam Bam was one of my favorites also. He had a really fun run through ECW. Sad to think that two thirds of that Triple threat are now gone.

a section of the pwinsider article i linked to refers to the fire, so i would have to think that it really happened...no reason to keep pushing a gimmick like that now if it werent really true.

Great athlete for a big guy, as has already been mentioned, just a tragedy that some many Wrestlers die in their 30's and 40's....It takes a hell of a toll on the body and vices that come with treating that pain are invariably responsible it seems. Sad Story!

The sad thing about being a wrestling fan is that you outlive all your heroes.

Yeah...that's the same reason why I hate being a fan of fruit flies.

The sad thing about being a wrestling fan is that you have to visit sites like that for your information. Seriously - that site makes espn.com look like craigslist...

He used to shop in the grocery store where I work. Seemed like a nice guy, Idunno.
