Hall of Fame - DBs & LBs?
I've simmed a couple of differnt league histories 1970-2006, and in both instances there are similarities in the Hall of Fame selections.
I appreciate that this is only two occasions, but the similarities are so pronounced I thought I'd see if others had found the same. Neither HoF has a single LB or DB in after 36 years. Both have multiple QB/RB/DL inductees (double figures for all three groups) One HoF has 6 WRs, the other 1. One HoF has 1 tackle & 3 centres, the other 1 tackle and 1 guard From these two simmed histories, it seems that there could well be a problem in the selection criteria for LB/DB, and possibly also for WR. The O-line is obviously an unglamorous position, and I am not too sure what to make of the low numbers for this position group. I know I'm not the only one who like a few years of history simmed before picking up the game - have others found similar in their HoFs?

You know what I think you are on to something. Because my career has only one lb and one CB in the hall of fame. The LB got in with 97% while the CB barely got in with 80%...

I started in 1970. In 1980, I had my first class in the HOF. Currently, there are 48 players in my HOF in 1989. Here are the defensive ones:
![]() I have 7 LBs and CBs in the HOF; however, I have four offensive linemen in the HOF: 1 LT, 2 LGs, and 1 C. I also have 7 QBs, 6 RBs, and 6 WRs in the HOF. |

I'm seeing the exact same thing in my latest league: 2006-2032, not a single DB or LB. Is this something that was a problem w/ previous patches, or something that just started w/ 6.0d?

Okay, after 2006-2049 I'm now at one tackle, one guard, and four centers in the hall. Still no LBs or DBs.....

I'm guessing centres may be getting attention because of pancake blocks, which seems to be the domain of centres.
I can understand it being difficult to pick our linebackers as anyone who has tried to do end of year awards will find out. It's very tough for a human to pick out the best linebackers, it must be even tougher for the AI. Secondary players I don't understand as much but there you go. At a guess sacks and hurries and whatnot as highly weighted for defensive positions and secondary players don't get many of those. |
