OJ Simpson Hired To Bengals Front Office

The much-maligned Cincinnati Bengals have hired former NFL great O.J. Simpson as Special Assistant of Player Development. Coach Marvin Lewis cited O.J.'s lack of criminal convictions as a beacon of change for the NFL's most lawbreaking franchise.

"O.J. Simpson not only excelled on the playing field, but his pristine criminal record is something we hope our players look at as an example," said Lewis.

When asked about Simpson's conviction on double murder charges in civil court, Lewis maintained his support of the hire.

"Look, O.J. was found guilty in civil court. Big deal," said Lewis. "That's a pretty big step up from the criminal cases our guys have been involved in. Keeping our guys out of prison is the first step. If they wind up having to pay fines, that would be okay. Football players are rich."

Lewis was stoic on the subject of Simpson's legendary temper.

"I don't even get what the problem is. It's not like any of our players are women or restaurant waiters. He'll do a fantastic job of representing the Bengals organization."

I really hope another Bengal isn't arrested for anything for like.. 5 years, minimum.

They used to be a pretty clean franchise up until last year.

With this hire, I think they are actually one step closer to cleaning things up.
