Yeah, that iron shot at 17 should just about put it away. I don't see anybody behind him and Howell making a charge. Howell hung in there, but once Tiger decided to put it away, that was it.

Woods and Federer should go play in the golf-tennis superleague, where they alternate 82 games of golf and tennis against each other, and give the rest of the poor bastards a chance.

Tiger can win just by deciding that he wants to win? That is one hell of an intangible.

According to the announcers he can will the ball into the hole. I wonder why he doesn't do that for each tee shot then.

He did 'will' those rookies or youngsters into choking a bit in the final six holes, didn't he? But I suppose that you could call it the TIGER effect.. OMG Tiger is behind me, I need to pull away from him some more then all hell begins for them.

Yes, it is.

Tiger's one of those rare athletes who can "turn it on." Jordan had it. Federer probably has it. These guys can suddenly flip the switch somewhere in their body and mind and play on a different level. Today wasn't classic Tiger reeling off four straight birdies or anything, but you can see it in his approach when he "decides" it's time to to turn it up a notch and pull away from the competiton.

Sure, sometimes his skill isn't enough, just like Jordan and Federer. But more often than not, when Tiger takes it up to the next level, it's over.

Too bad he wasn't born with the ability to cure disease. If only golf was the answer to life's big problems.

Spoken like a non-golfer. Golf IS the answer to life's problems.

My favorite part of this post is: " Last edited by Subby : Yesterday at 10:39 PM."

I have to laugh that there was editing going on to make it worse...

He didn't have a string of birdies but he had some AMAZING shots... the one on 17 was mentioned. I'd also like to add the eagle put he had earlier on the back nine (14 maybe??) that had some mutiple breaks and a long run at it. He almost sunk the dame thing... an inch or 2 away. Most players I would expect to have trouble 2 putting it. Tiger almost snak the damn thing. The guy is ubelieveable and I am just glad I can watch him do his magic..
