We're going light on the food this year since it's only going to be me, my wife, and a buddy of mine. So we have:
Brats Fries Queso Bean dip I wanted to make a second batch of a different kind of queso and some Seven Layer Dip, but that got vetoed...

We are going to a friend's house. He and his wife made a small Thanksgiving dinner (smoked turkey, Honey Baked Ham, etc.) for the conference championship games. I was told that today's meal will be larger.

What in the world are those two? Lets see, I think we have a couple cheap frozen pizzas, some honey bbq wings and buffalo wings, doritos, garlic bread, and whatever the wife picks up later possibly. Edit: And some homemade beans (tasty) and homemade pico for the chips.

Beer cheese soup my best friend makes - some Wisconsin cheddar cheese, milk, a nice dark lager beer, spices.. mmmmmm yummy! There is a fast food restaurant around here called White Castle (some other places I think they are called Crystal Castles) and they have these little steamed burgers with onions and pickles on them. We also call them belly bombers. ![]() This cheese dip I make with velveeta, hamburger, lipton onion soup mix, and a can of cream of mushroom soup tastes just like one of those hamburgers. I get little rolls to scoop some on and top it off with a pickle or two. Every year no matter what party we go to I'm asked to bring this cheese dip. |

I know this sounds like heresy but have you tried turkey brats? It's so weird- I picked some up on super clearance (I mean, really, it sounds like a bad idea) and tried them on a whim this past week. They taste just like brats only a little lighter and not quite as greasy. Then again, I boil them in beer and then grill them so it's not as if you're tasting much of the natural flavor anyways... SI

We're picking up BBQ, this place has some very good pulled pork and beef brisket, some excellent brunswick stew, and the best mac and cheese i've ever had, exponentially better than any i've ever had.
Their website isn't much but for the Atlanta folks: http://www.lostmountainbbq.com/BBQ1.html |

I'm just back from having dinner with my wife in a chinesse restaurant, but it's 22:40 at night here in Spain. The SB will be at my midnight so my SB food will be... a strong double expresso to keep me awake until it ends, that will be around my 4 am.

Mrs. Leafs is making her world famous nachos.
If I feel really helpful, I might open an old bag of doritos and throw a handful in a bowl.

I snagged a couple bags of chips, some hot and medium salsas (one of which I intend to mix with some shredded cheese) and some con queso dip.
Also some Orange Crush sodas. |

This is the first time I haven't had plans for the Super Bowl since I was about 14. I was away on business last week and was gone all weekend, so I'm not in the mood to make the trip up to Hoboken for my friend's party.
I'm also trying to watch my diet, so I'm passing up all the wings and cheese dips and other things that make me insanely jealous right now for a small indulgence of a chicken parm slice and a salad slice from the pizza place on the corner. |

White Castle Cheeseburger Dip 1 - block of velveeta or velveeta light cheese 1 – can of Campbells cream of mushroom soup (or healthy request version) 1.5 – lb ground hamburger or ground sirloin 1 – package of lipton onion soup mix Milk Hot Dog Buns or Sara Lee dinner rolls (in bread isle) Hamburger pickle slices In a skillet, brown the ground beef and mix in the package of lipton onion soup mix, when meat is brown, drain and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, cut up the velveeta cheese into small cubes and put into the microwave for about 3:00 mins. Take out bowl and pour about ¼ cup of milk into cheese, put back into microwave and cook until cheese is melted. What I do is about every 1 min, pull out the bowl and stir cheese sauce and add milk until you get a batter like consistency (a little runny is fine, you don’t want a real thick sauce). When sauce is desired consistency, remove from microwave and stir in mushroom soup. Pour the soup and cheese sauce mixture into a crockpot set on low and add the meat mixture. Cut hot dog buns in half. To serve: Get a bowl, heat the hot dog bun or roll in microwave for about 10 seconds, spoon dip (when hot enough) onto inside of bun, add 2 pickle slices, fold bun and eat!!
