You make the call for me...PS3 or 360

I've been debating this for about a month and am having a real tough time making this call. I have a Sony 720p TV if that matters in helping make the decision.

I too had this decision to make...I went with the 360 with all the bells and whistles. Eventually, I am betting they'll come up with a blue ray expansion for it.

Then wait 6 months. By then you'll have a clearer picture (maybe) on the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD and a better picture of what the holiday season will bring in games and perhaps a price drop. From what I have seen (and played on the 360), none of the games are worth running out to get the system.

I mean, the 360 does have some pretty damn good games, but if you've waited this long, might as well wait and see what will happen next fall.

If it's 720p, I'm not sure it's going to matter signficantly which way you go. Pick the format (HD or Blu-ray) that'll have the movies you want if you intend to use the system as a movie player, and pick which first-party games you'd rather play (i.e. Gears of War or Resistance).

Most major third-party games will end up on both systems anyway.

If there's a game you want now, get it and the system. If there is no must buy game you want right now, wait until one comes out. Don't get one to just get one.

Sorry I'm such a hypocrite.

If you can wait, I would. The games, the systems themselves (with some reported possible upgrades) and the prices are only to get better in time.

Right now, I'd go with the 360. 6 months from now, you'll have some money saved, and you can get the PS3 too.

I say 360 if you live in USA, imho is a better system and the online is way better than Sony's. If you are European like me, then probably the PS3 will be a better option because the games are region free, you will be able to play USA games in the PS3 while you can't in the 360 (MLB, college hoops, NCAA etc).

About Blue-ray, who really cares right now? I would like it as option instead of built in.

I had to make this decision the other day. I ended up getting an Xbox360 mainly because I wanted to try to join in some online play for things like madden, college hoops, etc with other fofc'ers. So far I haven't done that any yet though.

I voted 360. It's a dream to program, and then you can buy the games I work on

My current vote is for the 360. Down the road, I have no idea.

For me, Blu-Ray is an irrelevant part of the discussion. I buy my game systems to play games on. That's the #1 priority for me. I buy about, oh, 1 DVD movie a year and that's as a gift to a friend who likes them. (OK, I did buy season 1 of The Wire a few weeks ago and I've purchased some Family Guy seasons in the past year. . . but they look fine for me in my current DVD player.

If Blu Ray is something that concerns you, there are more variables in the question. For me, the current crop of 360 games is stronger. The controller is probably the single best one I've ever used. I like the online content and how easy it is to get on servers and play.

In 6 months? We'll see if the 360 still holds those advantages. My guess is it will, but time will tell.

Going off topic, I love the games that your team develops but I wonder if you are both in the team that developed Rainbow Six Vegas and the new Graw 2.

If so, why is the Graw 2 crouching/hiding system like the old Graw instead of copying the Vegas one (left trigger) that is way easier to use? Different developing teams? I love the system in Vegas but i like more the open environment in GRAW2 (only played the demo from marketplace). As i think you have said in the past that you want to be looked here like a test sims fan and not like a games developer, I underestand if you don't want to comment about the games your company releases in this board, you can ignore the question if you don't feel confortable, i was just curious

Oh and btw, on your comment, i have read in more places that the 360 is way more programmer friendly than the ps3 and it could mean more and better games develped for the 360.

No. I worked on the multiplayer section of GRAW, and am working on the multiplayer section of GRAW 2.

I can't really comment on the "whys".

Well....looks like PS3 isn't the purchase right now. Close between the 360 and waiting though.
