Good Site for Running Fantasy Football League?

Hey all,

Last season I started up a new fantasy football league. I am basically running the league out of a spreadsheet, and a little web site that I was manually updating. Now that our season is over, I have been asked if we can look for a service that we can run our league out of, where everything is tracked on the site. This includes rosters and roster submissions, scoring, standings, etc.

My requirements are that the service must allow for custom scoring systems. The owners in my league do not mind if it is a service that we need to pay for.

Does anyone have any recommendations of good web sites that I can look at to accommodate my league next season?

Thanks!

I use myfantasyleague.com which has a great, flexible custom scoring system, but it's ain't cheap, and I swear it seems to go up $10 a year, but everybody in my league loves it.

cbssportsline.com is probably the best out there.

You can customize everything. It's a great site for fantasy games. I'm currently running a fantasy hockey league and it's been fantastic.

Very easy to use too.

I've played in leagues using myfantasyleague and I think the menu system is horrific.

This year, In one league, we used AOL. It was actually a very nice site and it was free. (This last year at least.. not sure if they are going to have a fee next year).

fanball.com is the balls.

It is around $50.00 for the season though, still cheaper than most. For leagues that stay around from year to year, it keeps the same site and keeps track of all your records.

Our league has used it the last 3 years. About $90-$100. Custom scoring is very flexible and it's the only one that fit all of our rules.

I've been using sportsline for a long time and have had no complaints. I have heard good things about fanball though, especially the price.

Yahoo sucks for customization and live scoring.
ESPN is horrific.

Fanball rocks although their server craps at least once a year. The records section is awesome.

I used myfatasyleague.com as well. I really liked it, but as one other said the price seems to go up each year.

yahoo, wasn't bad but a pain in the butt to customize.

I know of another I tried before, trying to remember, if I do Ill post again.

Add me to list of Sportsline users ... have run 2 leagues for about 5 years using Sportsline.

Pros
  • great interface
  • easily customizable
  • keeps historical records
Cons
  • Expensive

I still use CBS Sportsline for 2 of the leagues I am in, but we started a new league this year and one guy recommended the AOL site. It uses the fanball backend (same as Sportsline) and is very customizable. Best of all, it is free! One gripe we had was the real-time scoring was noticably behind Sportslines and there was no indication on the real-time scoring applet when something happened (when your player is on the field or when he gets you points) like Sportsline. Otherwise, we liked AOL's site a lot and will most likely use it again next year.
