Creating images for TV slide show

OK, this one has me stumped. My boss wants to put up a plasma screen in our office that will display a slide show in our lobby. For logistics and space, I thought I would explore putting the slides on a memory card and inserting into a monitor so I don't have to add the cost and logistics of using a DVD or PC.

The problem is that no matter what I do, I can't seem to create jpeg images that work on my TV. I can view images off my camera just fine, but I can't view any edited images created in Photoshop or Fireworks.

Anybody have any ideas? I appreciate any suggestions.
