Big video game clearance sale at best buy today?

A buddy of mine sent this link along...I hope it's real!

A couple of those XBox 360 game deals look amazing (Oblivion Collectors Edition for $9.99?!?). I won't be able to get to Best Buy until after work, so I'm sure they'll be sold out of most of that stuff, but I'll give it a shot.

Pumpy if you see anything you like my friend is a manager at the Best Buy in Greensburg. I could try to get ahold of him to save a title or two for you. I can't promise anything because he doesn't answer his cell when he is at work.

Thanks. I'll have to check with my wife and see if she's interested in any of the games on the list. I'll send you a PM after I've gotten a hold of her, but that might not be until around lunch time.

Even if nothing comes out of this, I appreciate the help!

In the past, this has been extremely YMMV. But if you do find the titles on the list it is a major score.

This sucked. We found many of the games, but they weren't the price listed. Apparently, they have to be certain copies of the game to be on sale. So for example, the site had GTA San Andreas. I found a copy, but it had the "Greatest Hits" red logo on top. No dice on the $1.99.

It must just be only certain Best Buys. The one in my hometown apparently said there's no clearance sale, yet they've pulled most of the games on the list from the shelves.

Oh and Oblivion: Collectors Edition was still $60 for the 360

What? Best Buy playing games with low advertised prices in an effort to get you into the store to buy other things, only to make it difficult if not impossible for you to find the items once you are there? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

(They've been playing this game since I was still buying VHS tapes, and is one reason I don't shop at Best Buy)

Guess you live and learn. I got a distinct bait and switch feeling in my lower groinal area.

I got 3, they didn't have a lot of them (my one BB HAD Madden 07 HOF for a while but didn't have any today)

I grabbed:
PS2 DBZ Budokai 3 for $5
PS2 MGS3: Substinence for $10
PSP DBZ Shin Budokai for $10

the PSP game is a gift for the girlfriend's little brother so I'm happy

Just happened to see this thread. The Local best buy I went into had carts with certain games (mostly ones no one wanted ), and various other small electronics crap on a shelf for %50 off.

Those prices weren't advertised. That was an overeager employee spreading the word about pricedrops.

FWIW, Athens, GA BestBuy had probably 15 or so titles for X-Box & PS2 (didn't look at the others much) at either $4.99 or $9.99, only a couple for $1.99. These were all mixed in with the regular price titles, in their usual spots on the shelf, just with different price tags. The GBA games, maybe 4 titles, were on an endcap display with 2 or 3 PSP games at either $4.99 or $9.99.

What was kind of funny was seeing three different shoppers, all about college age, walking around the store with several pages of paper ... appeared that each one had printed out the list of the titles that were linked here earlier.

Will ended up buying one older PS2 title for $4.99 but I was the bigger winner: finally picked up the Heroes of World Class: The Story of the Von Erichs DVD for $14.99, which is five bucks cheaper than both highspots.com and the filmaker's own website.
