Reason #1 Not To Sleep On the Plane

news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070306/ap_on_fe_st/northwest_arrest

MINNEAPOLIS - An off-duty Northwest Airlines employee was arrested after a woman on a flight from Seattle complained that the man had ejaculated on her.
The FBI identified the man as Samuel Oscar Gonzalez, 20, of Lakewood, Wash. He was charged in federal court with simple assault, a misdemeanor.
According to an affidavit filed with the complaint, the woman said she was trying to sleep in her seat when the man sat down in an empty seat next to her. She said he touched her, and then got up and left. She then realized what had happened, and told flight attendants, according to the affidavit.
The crew moved the man to a seat near the front of the plane until the end of the flight. Northwest Airlines Corp. said the flight crew asked that police meet the flight from Seattle when it arrived early Monday in Minneapolis.
"The NWA employee has been suspended pending a review of the incident. Northwest is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities on this matter," the company said in a statement.
Northwest declined to say what job Gonzalez holds with the airline.
The FBI said Gonzalez was detained after his initial appearance in federal court on Monday.

A couple of bizarre airplane stories in the news today. The one about the father who crashed his plane into his mother-in-laws house with his 8-year old daughter in the plane with him floored me.

The title of this post really had me worried (given that it was posted by PilotMan). I was afraid he was going to give us reasons why the pilot shouldn't sleep during flight.

There's actually a couple of funny stories about this, and none of them involve me.

First was the crew that mysteriously missed their descents and radio calls form ATC, and ended up over their destination at 24000 ft before realizing their error.

The second was the cargo crew who was waiting to park their airplane after a long overnight flight and both crew fell asleep (with the engines running) before the ground crew came out to park the plane.

I have to say that it does happen, but really, really infrequently, just like 9-hour ground delays.

Come fly with me, lets fly lets fly away
If you can use, some exotic booze
Theres a bar in far bombay
Come fly with me, well fly well fly away

Come fly with me, lets float down to peru
In lama land, theres a one man band
And hell toot his flute for you
Come fly with me, well float down in the blue

Once I get you up there, where the air is rarefied
Well just glide, starry eyed
Once I get you up there, Ill be holding you so near
You may here, angels cheer - because were together

Weather wise its such a lovely day
You just say the words, and well beat the birds
Down to acapulco bay
Its perfect, for a flying honeymoon - they say
Come fly with me, well fly well fly away

Don't just limit yourself to that one:

And of course, if you're feeling a little wacked-out, there's always this one:

He is very, very, lucky he was not charged with some sort of sex crime.

Yeah, can you imagine having to register as a sex offender for every flight you take? And having people look up their flight info and seeing your picture with a "this registered sex offender is sitting 3 aisles away from you" caption? That would suck!

That's a possibility...or maybe he's just a two tug kinda guy. Either way, he pulled it off until he got caught.
