F@#*ed Up Dreams/Nightmares

As many of you know, my father passed away last year from his battle with lung cancer. Now that the weather has started to warm, my thoughts have turned to him more and more. It's not compulsive, but it seems to be more frequent. This time last year, dad was staying with us while he was going through his chemotherapy and radiation treatment. It was difficult to watch him struggle while going through this ordeal. I would spend as much time as I could talking to him or watching a movie on AMC in the living room.

Last night, I was having a dream about sitting in the living room with him. We were talking when I saw something falling from his nose. I brought him a tissue when I noticed it was a maggot. Next thing I knew, maggots were coming from his mouth, ears, and nose. He was panicking and fell out of the recliner. I went to pick him up from the floor when suddenly I was on my hands and knees in the cemetery where he is buried. I looked up and saw my family staring at me with these mocking grins. I looked at the marker and saw my name on the stone. I was horrified.

When I woke up, I was trying to scream, but nothing was coming out. Never had such a scary dream.

Dreams are all about unresolved emotional issues. Seems perfectly normal...

I have had a run of dreams over the last couple of months that have led to me waking up with some God awful scream. I scare the crap out of my wife every time. It's very unsettling.

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time.

I have a recurring dream about being in the passenger seat of a car that is about to crash. It happens maybe 2-3 times a year, but I really have no idea what its actually about. Always very, very scary, scary enough that at least on one occasion I was incapacitated for most of the day.
