Tommy Thompson (the real author of welfare reform) announces candidacy

Former Wisconsin Gov, Tommy Thompson, the man who really got the welfare reform thing rolling (which Clinton claims credit for) announced he's running for President. I have always really liked this guy, and think he's instantly the best candidate in the field. Unfortunately he's not sexy like Obama, or even particularly well-known like McCain or Rudy. Too bad because he's an excellent political leader who has always had a mind of his own and some genuine original ideas.

Bah, just read the link and what I saw there pretty much looks like he would pretty much keep the Bush status quo and I can't possibly back that.

I have had respect for him in the past and don't necessarily disrespect him now but there's no way I'm voting for four more years of the status quo. Can't do it.
