Running game in coach mode (calling plays)

Hello all. first post. To preface, i think this is the best football game of the year. This coming from a console guy.

Anyway, I like to call all my teams plays, and for the life of me, I cant get a real good running game going! Ive become obsessed with lineman because of this, thinking this would help. My back have been Bensoc and Jones, Laryy johnson, and most recently Bush and mcCallister.

My running average always seems to hover around 3.8 yards a game, and this with me devoting money to a line, fullbacks, blocking TE's.

Am i doing something wrong? Why cant i get a run game going? Im i missing something? I dont really gameplan, would that do anything?

Any help would be much appreciated.

First of all, 3.8 a game isn't bad. Second, I actually write down all of my plays by formation to make sure i don't repeat plays and to make sure I'm mixing it up: inside, outside, left right strong weak. obviously you need to pass now and then to keep the safeties back.
