Based on a very quick, gut-level response to each week's game, my first prediction for the Detroit Lions is: 5-11.

The Suck will continue.

KC starts with two road games and finishes with two road games. 8 of the middle 12 games are at home. They'll have to make hay in the middle portion of that schedule, though the road games at the end against Detroit and NYJ don't seem too menacing. I'm more worried about the AFC West opponents than any of our NFC opponents, including Chicago.

Seems to me that ESPN is going to have to air a lot of pretty mediocre games on Monday night. Lots of teams that weren't very good this year and don't seem like they have improved much. While there are a couple of very good matchups, most of the time MNF seems like it'll be a miss.

Looks like a very favorable schedule for the Falcons. Even if they go .500 in the division, I can easily see a ten win season.

Is the awful (IMO) flex schedule thing still happening next season?

Sunday Night Football is probably the better show at this point. Hopefully Jaws helps out the MNF telecast a bit, because it was really weak last year.

To be honest, I was upset when I saw only one MNF game, but then I saw there were six prime-time games and that faded. The masses were clearly clammoring to see Wade Phillips on the sidelines.

Definitely - I'd rather have that important game on Sunday afternoon, when I'm in football mode. The flex schedule also makes it impossible to plan a weekend trip around a game. It otherwise just annoys me, I realize I'm in the minority.

I see your point but IMO I would rather see an important game on a main stage.

I am a Giants fan and am going to watch the giants game no matter what, even if that means missing a different game that is more important to the overall NFL. I would rather the "important" game be the only one on so I can enjoy both games independantly of each other.

I guess I'm old school when it comes to schedule certainly. Like in this thread, people are already looking forward to specific Monday Night matchups involving their teams - even though the Monday night schedule won't be settled until maybe 2 days before each game.

Monday night games are all set in stone, Sunday night games in week 10 and on could change. The will give 12 days notice for all games except Week 17, when it will be 6 days.
