What cap will he wear in the HOF?

I figured it would be fun to do this once a week or so and keep track of it.

Basicly taking players either recently retited or getting close to retirement who have played for multiple teams and try and see what hat they wear in the HOF.

Only sure fire or close HOF'rs will be used and only if they are close to retirering.

Our first candidate is

ROGER CLEMENS

Heh, at first I thought you meant you'd post this poll about Rajah every week, which would be kind of funny.

In any case FYI, the HOF took away players' rights to decide after the Wade Boggs episode where Tampa Bay supposedly paid him to wear the Rays cap on his plaque.. The new policy is they wear the hat they spent the bulk of their careers with.

Funny shit.

Lifelong Sox fan here Wade, and Rajah is still my favorite pitcher. So I know how ya feel.

Would be pretty cool to see John Henry bring him back this June to finish his career in a Sox uni - assuming Rocket ever actually really retires that is.

I agree that Roberto Alomar would be a good one. Ivan Rodriguez, although it is a little early, might be another good one. As would A-Rod (still way too early in terms of teams he might play for, though).

The pinnacle of Clemens's career performance-wise was with the Red Sox. The pinnacle team achievement-wise was with the Yankees.

They do usually pick the team a players is most identified with, but they may listen to the player if he feels it should be another team.

In Clemens case, they'll probably go with whatever team he chooses.

Had he not gone back a second time, maybe there would be an argument. But he's an A. He even broke the SB record as an A, IIRC.

Funny enough, he had such an impact on the 1993 post-season, that the second team that came to my mind after Oakland was Toronto, but aside from winning a WS with that team, he played less than 50 games with them.

That all makes sense to me, and I'm agree.

Is there a greater than 0% chance that Rickey Henderson gets elected to the Hall of Fame in 2008 and then comes back and plays for some major league team? I know that it's very, very unlikely that some MLB team would bring him in, but would you consider that chance to be 0%?

Schilling is a tough call. Best World Series of my life was the AZ-NYY one. Best drama of my life was the Red Sox one. He was a major component of both.

I think there is a 5% chance that Rickey Henderson will be an above average major league baseball player in 2008.

It's not his choice. The Hall took the choice away from the players several years ago.

I may be confusing him with someone else, but I thought Clemens said he wouldn't go to the induction ceremony if the HOF made him go in as a member of the Red Sox. Although he seems to have mended his issues with management there since he's considering them if he decides to play again this year.
