Evidently it is not as simple as him giving back. Supposedly there is an issue because Westbrook has already paid taxes on the money.

Happened to me once. My work dumped $600 in expenses in my account that were meant for someone else. Back when $600 was a fairly hefty chunk of change to me.

ESPN reported last night that the NFL does have the option of charging the extra $3 mil against the Eagles cap number.
