VT Shooting is now personal

I just found out that the German teacher who was killed in the shooting was my cousin. We weren't close by any means, he was a few years younger than I, and we didn't see each other very often, but he was a great kid. This really makes this tragedy that much harder to swallow.

Here is an article about him...

Jamie Bishop - RIP

Wow....regardless of how well you knew your cousin, it is still family and I wish you well considering how it will affect you other cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.

My condolences go out to Breeze and his family.

Not to jump on his thread, but about 9pm last night I found out that another professor that died, Kevin Granata, is my dad's cousin. Even though I didnt really know him, it is still strange how personal it has become.

The death has rocked that side of my family pretty hard. RIP

All too true. I saw my hometown (Woodbridge) scroll by on CNN yesterday and my heart jumped. It wasn't a name or family I recognized, but it very easily could have been.
