loading a saved game?

May be a stupid question, I have been trying for 30 mins to load my saved game, I have clicked on every single icon and nowhere to load my saved game, I stumbled upon it yesterday somehow, not sure why its so hidden..I tried the help file and it just says to

Load Saved Game Screen

"The Load Saved Game Screen allows you to load a saved career.

To load a game, make a selection in the drop-down box and click the Open button."

where is this magical drop down box at? Thanks and im not a newbie to these kinds of games and I have always been able to load my saved game files on every single game I have ever played in my lifetime but this game.

The little icons that look like disc's are not highlighted and that was my first guess for a saved game..

actually I have found the drop down box and when I try and load my game it just says "unable to load game data file, saved game file is missing
