Worst CM manager

I fear that I am the worst CM manager in the world.

I started a new game wit Halifax, a promising english division 3 team. Things start out pretty well. I win my first league game. and beat a division I squad to make it into the second round of the league cup. Since then things have just fallen apart.

Here is my record
1-3-5

In 9 games I have only scored 4 goals, and allowed 14. Im setting second to last in the division with 6 points. Is this just a string of bad luck, or can I really not manage a club?

I havent made any wholesale changes to my club, except selling a player in the first month with only 1 stamina. And im using the standard 4-4-2 attacking tactics.

No, you're not the worst. The first time I ever downloaded the game (and subsequently gave up on it until the World Cup came around about a year later)....I chose Manchester United as my team...first game, I lost 5-1. UGh.

in my most recent CM career i finished bottom of the conference in my first season. i took another job (Halesowen Town) and over the next few years took them to the Premiership. don't ever let a bad start get you down! it happens to the best of us

i am not familar with halifax so i can't advise of specific player details but look at why your not scoring...are you creating chances? does the other team posses the ball 60% or more? Are some of your midfielders able to make runs forward or cross? maybe your outside defenders could help in the attack and move you wingers inward a little? maybe you could try a 4-5-1 if your midfield is outmanned. I wouldn't consider your defense a problem 14 goals in 10 games isn't all that bad but 4 goals scored is how many chances are you getting? If the wrong guys are getting them put them on direct passing and have the defenders feed the midfield and the midfield feed the forwards. If you have funds try to get you central midfielders to be your best players as they should be touching the ball the most in a normal 4-4-2 if your defenders are getting the most touches and or your forwards lack touches i would try a 4-5-1 you can get new players but i think you need to tweak your tactic to better suit your players...also is team morale bad? that can cause a lack of results get players who want to play look for good workrate so at least you will get effort out of them? send your scouts on youth searches and get young guys with good workrate they can make a world of difference.

Actually they wre not to unhappy at that point. I played about 4 more matches and won 2 and tied 1. so things were looking up, but I decided to restart. I think I wasnt letting my starters play enough, I had too many backups starting and so on.

Well I have figured out my problem, trouble is I dont know how to trackle it. Im not creating chances to score. Teams are out-shooting me three too one. And I finally find a formation that equalizes the goals, but then it causes my defense to give up more goals...

4-5-1 is the way to go...load up the midfeild and win 1-0 or tie 0-0...just the way soccer SHOULD be played.

I could be the worst Cm manager ever. I'm playing with Longford Town in the Irish league. I was 9-25-9 in league play and cups my first year and was relegated. I've still managed to keep my job and am currently in last place in the Irsh First Division and not even close to moving up. I can't score goals either. My forwards score all my goals none of the midfielders ever score. Oh well!!!!. What a great game though. It's completely addictive. I find myself going home for lunch hour to play the game.
