Anyone still playing Diablo II?

I got a hankering for some D2 action today and am reinstalling D2 + LOD as we speak, I'm not looking forward to downloading the latest patch since I remember it taking friggin forever but we'll see

Just curious if anyone else still fires it up?

Titan Quest has pretty much taken care of any D2 hankering I have anymore.

When I need a Diablo fix, I go with the original. Never really liked D2.

Funny you bring up D2, when I was looking for something else last night, I ran across my D2 install cd's. Of course, I'd have been much happier if I'd have found what I was actually looking for...

Both of them, not in either. Also not in my DS Lite. Nor is it in the box where I keep all my GBA games, nor is it in any case for a DS game (they have the slots to hold your GBA game). Not under the bed or under or in either nightstand.

I'm stumped on where it went, kind of annoying, actually

I'll be the third person to chime in on Titan Quest as a Diablo II alternative. I've enjoyed it a great deal and have not had any real urge to play Diablo again since installing it. And I loved me some Diablo back in the day ...

If I ever feel like playing D2, I just fire up Titan Quest. Much superior game I think.

At this point D2 is antiquated - Titan Quest is much better.

So... who's looking forward to Hellgate?

Why would anyone else be looking forward to my mother-in-law's visit next week?

I will be once I sink a little money into my existing PC. Doesn't sound like the existing graphics card/memory combo is going to get the job done for a game like this.

http://original.titanquestgame.com/

and

http://www.hellgatelondon.com

for those interested in that game.

Hellgate has some interesting features - in addition to the free online play of the Diablo model, they are also planning a MMORPG style/monthly fee 'Super'-Hellgate, where you'll play online with even more bells and whistles.

It'll be interesting to see how that goes.

I strongly, strongly, strongly urge anyone thinking of picking up Titan Quest to get the expansion pack as well.

The expansion pack added a few things without which TQ felt mostly unplayable to me - most notably a Stash (off-character storage).

I echo the thoughts on getting the expansion pack. TQ is certainly playable without it, but the extra content at the end plus the in-line features (stash being one of them, extra class, extra items, etc) make it a much stronger option.

Of course, getting the expansion pack bumps the cost up to around $50 (game + expansion).

Don't listen to hoopsguy, his damn TQ dynasty nearly sucked away my soul... in that it had me pick up the game+expansion through D2D and go many sleepless nights slaying mythical beasts and foraying into the realms of the gods.

Since it's not due to be released until late Fall, I think you have some time to upgrade.

I will probably reinstall Diablo II, now that the ladder is going to be reset on June 25th. However, I don't see myself playing more than a week before going back to Titan Quest or one of the PS2 Champions games for that type of gaming fix.

Laddar reset works out well with me getting back into it, not that I played much group games or traded but still.

TQ is a fun game. I blame hoopsguy's dynasty. I've had fun with it. Wife started playing it too.
