Need tech help!!: Samba and Vista Home Premium

Does anyone have any idea how to get Vista to recognize Samba shares? I have seen one fix for it in which you go into the registry and change the LmCompatibilityLevel from 3 to 1, but that did not seem to work. I am only able to get internet access, but no luck on the local network. Worked fine with Windows XP and I can't figure out what I am missing. Has anyone dealt with this?
