How do you clean your girl?

So after a long time of having a "charcoal" girl with a "cooking surface" that was really dirty, beyond the point of cleaning, I finally just bought a new girl. Just the "cooking surface", that is. The rest of the girl is the same old one, and kinda dusty all over the place, but serviceable. So now that I have one new piece, I want to be sure to maintain it all as best as I can. So..what do you guys do to keep your girl clean?

Don't pull your meat out until its done.

That way you don't leave little pieces of meat on the grill, it all comes out with the meat. Be careful not to burn it though. Many foods self-release when properly cooked.

I'm lost here. I thought we were talking about my girl, not a grill. What are you talking about?

I'm surprised PAM cooking spray hasn't entered this conversation yet.

Stick 'em both in a bathtub, especially after they've been playing in a sandbox.

...wait...we're talking about kids, right?

Ok, this gets a -4 out of 10. Parody threads are bad enough but bad parody threads... well, can't expect much from Columbia-loving fans

This is so much different than the KU/KSU thing. In that one, we're the fruity liberals to the east while they're the animal husbandry hicks to the west. Then again, I just look at it as you guys being the slave state to the east, us being the free state to the west.

This reminds me of the funniest bathroom graffiti I've ever seen:

"I like grils."
"That's girls, stupid."
"Hey! What about us grils?"

So for those of you who recommended using a wire brush, how long do you scrub it for? Is it not supposed to stay shiny on the "cooking surface" after a while? I bought a wire brush at Home Depot, but I lost it or something, and I used steel wool instead. She seems clean enough for the most part, but not like new. Am I just being too picky at this point?
