Im going to OCS!!!

Hi all,
just wanted to let everyone know that I went to the Army OCS board on the 11th; grilled by ''The Three Wise Men'' and was approved for OCS.
However it will be on short notice; I report to Fort Benning on 26 July (all prior service I was told, were to report to Benning at that date), with the class starting on 11 September. So, for the next 45 days before OCS, I and a bunch of others will be doing ''Area Beautification.''

Im so glad that Im going to OCS! Its been 6 months of delays due to missing paper work and Red Tape et. ala. I really cant wait for the class to start.
No real worries since I have 45 daysto get my 2MR down to 14 min (currently 15:20). Should be lots of fun.

Any OCS (recent or past)grads here? I'd appreciate hearing from you.

CHEM.

Congrats -- my dad went to OCS in the fall of '72 at Ft. Benning. He seems to have some fond memories. Probably a lot different now I'd guess.

Congrats, saw several of my friends go into OTS when I was in the Air Force. That is quite an accomplishment since they are very picky of who they want to join.

Get yourself a silver dollar. Your supposed to give it to the first enlisted man who salutes you. Butter bar!

Thanks for the support guys and gals!
Only thing left now is taking a certain girl out (the one I helped uot during the gettysburg group project) to a fancy dinner before I leave. Weve dated onn & off but long hours of an NCO, FTX's, TDY's and the OCS stuff plus her full time work and grad school stuff during the past few months have curtailed our dating life to a halt. So, I hope she's not too busy the next week. ;-)

Congrats. Although I didn't go through OCS, what I've seen of officers who did was that they were better LTs than ROTC or West Pointers overall. The only advice I would give is that it's way different being an officer than being an NCO.
