FM 2006 save game question.....

I've put in about 25 seasons in a career I've been playing for quite some time. This week, my computer caught a nasty virus that's going to require a full reinstall off a recovery disk. I can still copy stuff to my flash drives/memory cards. Is there any way to save off my save game for FM 2006? If so, how do I know which files/folders to copy to retain my game and copy it back on after the computer has been reinstalled?

Thanks for any help.

Not in front of my computer right now, but inside your My Documents folder should be a SI folder that contains another folder with Saved Games. All you should need is the one file with the name of your saved game.

How large is that folder? I assume I can move it in pieces and reassemble it later if it doesn't all fit on my 1 GB flash drive?

Depends on how many saved games you have in there. You can do it one file at at time, but I'm not sure how big a 25 year career file is. Hopefully not over 1GB, or hopefully it zips up fairly well.

I use the rolling auto save, but I only need one of the saves obviously. Good point about the zip. I'm sure that would reduce the size significantly.

Thanks for the help. I've become attached to my players and my legacy. I'd hate to lose it and have to start over.

Your save game should be quite a way under 1Gb in size - don't forget to take tactics files etc. as well as the save if you export such things.

(ditto any 3rd party add-ons you might use)

I just used the general tactics. Haven't adjusted any of them or saved any searches. So then I just need the save file?

Yeah by the sounds of it just the save file will be fine.

(no third-party skins of suchlike installed?)

we probably have different leagues settings but mine saved game checks in at about 640.

out of curiosity, does anybody know if there is any way to turn inactive or semi-active leagues to full active leagues? in earlier versions i vaguely recall that semi-active can become full active. i tried asking this in the other primary FM thread without much luck in the way of answers/attention.
