As a supporter of prison ministries in this country, I am heartened to see similar efforts working in the Middle East

Puhlease. Most of us (except the group of ignorant people that all societies have that like to draw very specific lines and love to hate everybody) understand that the correct statement is "Radical Islam is at war with us".

The ignorant people in society is the group I was poking fun at...I know most people realize what's actually happening...but it's hard to make fun of people you agree with...It's like eating tomato soup with a fork...

I wonder how many were screaming for the closure of Abu Ghraib when those few bad apples caused all of those problems? It seems like that it helped this Saudi out immensely.

Um, I don't think this has anything to do with Abu Ghraib specifically. If Abu Ghraib didn't exist, I'm sure he would have just been treated at another facility. As to whether it was a "few bad apples", people will draw their own conclusions. I can only refer you to the classified report (Executive Summary) authored by Major General Taguba, who was assigned to inspect Abu Gharaib after the abuses. General Taguba, who retired in January of this year, is interviewed here. |
