2Pac or Biggie
It's time to see where FOFC stands on the biggest feud in the history of the world. The hutus and the tutsis? The Israelis and the Palestinians? The Irish and the Northern Irish? The Sunnis and the Shiites? Coke and Pepsi? Pontius Pilate and Jesus? Donald Trump and Rosie? Those are all dogshit compared to 2Pac and Biggie!
Choose your destiny!

Tupac was, IMHO, someone who would have affected change in society had he lived past 30.
Biggie was a gifted rapper, but, unfortunately, nothing more.

I liked Biggie I recently started listening to his music and he was pretty nice. Tupac while not as lyrical as Biggie had so much passion in his music like he was giving a speech to the masses. "White Man'z World" is so powerful on so many levels but people chose to think 2Pac was a ignorant black male when it just was not true. I think he used that thug image as bait to reel in the youth then hit them over the head with his truth and reality. "Who knowz what 2morrow brings?"

I have to say 2Pac. Biggie was a good rapper and I liked his voice. But 2Pac seemed like more than just a rapper. Aren't there courses in the U.S. that study 2Pac's rap/poetry?

2Pac...is he really dead? Does anyone have a list of the CDs he's released since his "death"? He's the most prolific ghost ever.

I was going to write out a long rebuttal to this. But I decided I don't feel like dealing with this argument right now. The bottom line is, unless you spend lots of time listening to music of all forms..and I'm talking LOTS of time...it's really hard to understand the commonality of the different genres and how they have far more in common than folks would want to realize. And the main caveat to this argument is, I listened almost entirely to classical music until I was about 13 and didn't start to listen to hip-hop in earnest until about ten years after that. So it's not like I've grown up on this stuff, I've come it at really, really late. And it's taken a lot of understanding to get a point where I can appreciate music the way I do..and even with that, there is still a lot more to be discovered and appreciated. To that end, the mixtape Blue Eyes meets Bed Stuy managed to fuse the two particular artists in question pretty well on a few tracks. The kid who did it was an amateur, but I imagine someone with more talent would've done even better. But enough already. Back on 'topic'. |

Hit 'em up.
I like 2Pac's music better, but I think his hardcore fans are pretty annoying. BIG just sounded way too much like he had marbles in his mouth. Although he had some good jamz too. |

I'm completely confident 2pac would have cured cancer, become president, and been the first man to walk on Mars if he was still alive.

Another one for 2pac. But I'll take either of them over the sh*t they call rap nowadays. If I hear "This Is Why I'm Hot" one more time, I'll puke.

I love it when folks talk/sing about faith, god, heaven, et al, and then go out and roll with gangs, shoot people, beat people up, and just generally act like all round ass-hats.

I've never beat anybody up, shot anybody, written songs about screwing somebody else's wife, or hung around with any gangs or underworld figures (knowingly), and if I did I wouldn't be going around saying "only god may judge me". I doubt I'm the only one.

Here's my problem .... I associate MUSIC with people playing instruments producing cords and such. you RARELY find this in hip hop unless they are sampling other peoples songs, their so dam lazy they cant produce their own. Also sorry but a guy with his hand over his mouth doing beat box or scratching a needle on a record is also not music. Now the lyrics might be pretty good, and their are some I like but I would put that in the category of poetry not music. their maybe some good music in the hip hop community but 99% of what is shown is usually a bunch of "thugs" singing about slapping their bitch or the 1000 variations of such. or some idiot like Snoop wandering around high as a kite mumbling something most cant understand ... makes you want to jam a sharp pencil in your ears. all this as they sample some 70's metal band's music in the background. |

Tough call, though I ended up voting for Biggie (because I liked his singles better, very pop-sounding).
Both seemed like pretty skillful lyricists, with Tupac wilfully injecting a bit more social commentary. I am also still very impressed that Tupac Amaru both shared his name with a Peruvian terrorist group and appeared in the "Humpty Dance" video. A true triple threat... |

Thug Mansion.
![]() I love Nas' acoustic rendition. Every corner, every city There's a place where life's a little easy Little Hennessy, laid back and cool Every hour, cause it's all good Leave all the stress from the world outside Every wrong done will be alright (I wanna go) Nothin but peace (I wanna go) love (I wanna go nigga) And street passion, every ghetto needs a thug mansion

Where's the trout option? Especially in these kind of lesser of two evils debates, there has to be one. Hence, even American politics has a throw-your-vote-away option behind the Democrats and Republicans!
