Why is Liberace so Hell Bent on Taking Down a Fox like PSUColonel?

Is it because of his sweet smell and dreamy eyes? Just curious...

Liberace likes how he clenches up at the mere mention of Islam.

Liberace was a Republican.

He just took it in the butt liberally.

I mean, seriously. Enough's enough already.

Once upon a time, PSU had a relatively varied posting history. I think even 6 months ago you'd be hard pressed to make a good case for invoking the "Jesse Ewiak Rule" on him. However, even a cursory look at his recent posting history (especially threads started) tells a different story. I'm guessing the only thing saving PSU now is his longevity.

Like Franklin and Capsicum.

It's my impression that Franklin was banned for a particularly egregious violation of the posting guidelines, although the nature of some of his postings just before that may have contributed.

Capsicum was clearly banned for posting pretty much only ad hominem attacks on board members.

I don't think either are very analogous to PSU or Jesse Ewiak, so I'm inclined to disagree with SD's retort here. However, I can't agree with ISiddiqui either - I think SD has shown a pretty even hand in boxing/banning those of any political persuasion, likely because I don't believe SD factors political persuasion much into said decisions.

Having said all that, I think, as stated above, PSU's recent history is becoming very analogous to Jesse's prior to the latter's banning. Further, PSU has ignored a number of good faith attempts by other board members to suggest ways he could advance his viewpoints without annoying people. Along those lines, I posted a summary of my thoughts here.

Anyway, IBTL. Again.

This phrase "I won't be commenting on them any longer" -- I do not think it means what we all wish it meant.

Yeah, right. How many times have you said this before? You'll be back to post hit-and-run political troll threads in no time.

Besides, there really isn't much "commentary" in the threads you start. Based on a quick review, most are:

1. Annoying/insulting/inflammatory title
2. Brief half-sentence dig at "liberals" based on a cursory reading of the "article" you're going to quote (this part is optional).
3. An "article" quoted at length or in full from some right-wing blog.

Arguably, your posts have less original content than jbmagic's.

You know, although I believe that a lot of PSUColonel's views are nonsupportable and worth mocking, I've never had a problem with the poster or his threads.

So, what have I been missing? Is this a popularity contest he's losing or there something egregious I'm missing?

I'll admit I now have to find the "locked thread" and read it but I seriously doubt that it's going to be enough for me to trash the Colonel.

I dunno, do we really have to have an absolute either we like this guys opinions or we'll shun them because I really hate that shit even when it's the other guy being shunned.

I feel I have a fairly good troll detector and PSUColonel hasn't set these off for me. So, what am I missing?

At least this reply makes some sense. I don't consider them trolls but cunts, probably, but that describes a whole lot of us here and we don't react like we do to these guys.

Formative moments in the lives of each American generation shape how they will view the world
around them. America’s next generation of adults, Gen-Y, observed the Clinton Administration,
the Columbine shooting and September 11th. These collective experiences, along with more
personal life events, sculpt a distinct world-view in this generation. The result: a generation
that loudly asserts its individualism, yet shares common views of hyper-tolerance and
community. Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research, in conjunction with Polimetrix, present an
ongoing series of studies designed to understand the lives of young Americans as they make
the transition to adulthood. As this survey shows, the individualistic personal goals and dreams
of Gen-Y often clash with their values and world-view, forcing them to negotiate their principles
as they chart a path for their own future.
Generation Y’s complex bargain between goals and reality can appear at times paradoxical. As
the realities of life begin to test the values of Generation Y, they are forced to make
compromises. They are individualistic, but still want to be completely connected. They want
jobs with good money, but also want jobs they love. Gen-Yers believe college education is
important to success, but not enough by itself. They describe themselves as patriotic, but their
patriotism seems sometimes conditional, particularly when it comes to military service. With the
internet, cell phones, and PDAs, this is the most inter-connected generation in history, but
above all else, they value their privacy. As has often been the case, they present a more
progressive political outlook than older generations.
