Anybody ever watched the Space Shuttle docking before?

40 minutes to docking with the Space Station. They've got amazing live video on the NASA TV website. It doesn't even look like the Shuttle is moving until you notice the Earth speeding by in the background.

Just pulled up the website...it amazes me how they do this stuff so precisely. Just wow.

Amazing shot of the sun rising in the background behind the shuttle.

Insane. They've gone all the way around the world in around an hour and a half since I started watching it.

Gouge in bottom of the space shuttle spotted by NASA. Possible that it might need to be fixed via spacewalk.

for awhile, when i read this, i was hesitant to believe it, but now i see it's also made spaceflightnow.com, so I guess there must be some merit to it.

space.com, nasawatch.com and badastronomy.com haven't picked it up yet. all 4 of these are infinitely more reliable for this kind of thing than foxnews (which for awhile was the ONLY place i could find it).

Yeah no one on bautforum.com had it when I looked last either. I had similar misgivings.

If you go along to the NASA Space Center up the road from me they have 3d films of various things - I saw one on the construction of the space station and that was fascinating ... astronauts are either incredibly brave or mad as hatters ... possibly both
