I just heard on CNBC that the rumor is he is doing this so he can take a small break and then begin work for the next Republican nominee.

The rumor mill in Austin was buzzing that he was going to leave, but not many believed it. The reason given was that there were a couple of red hot smoking guns that were recovered from the 'secret' RNC email server that the WH staff were using.
