Bogalusa, Louisiana

I'm probably taking a sports editor job soon for the Bogalusa Daily News, and I was wondering if anybody has spent any time there. Anything I should know?

I'm just marveling at the fact that Bogalusa, Louisiana has a newspaper.

I did a rotation there for a month, but I couldn't tell you much about that specific area except it is one of the smaller cities in Louisiana. Maybe one of the Louisiana natives might have more insight. Any specific questions you wanted answered?

Yuck, not my favorite part of the state, not nearly as bad as Northern Louisiana, but you are pretty much in Mississippi in Bogalusa.

The problem with Bogalusa is that you are a decent distance away all other forms of civilization; Hattiesburg, Covington, and Slidell are all 45-50 minutes away.

You aren't terribly far from the Northshore communities that blend into Covington and Slidell though. Really good standard of living in much of the Northshore, and you can find all the comforts of the "nice" area where former urbanites live to escape the city.(New Orleans.)

I'm pretty sure I got lost around there one time, couldn't tell you anything about the area though. Tigercat seems to be spot on, although you are a ways away from all those places it's not a terrible drive to go to New Orleans, or even Biloxi.

I think your first article recommendation should be "Why Da Foosball isn't the Devil"

I resemble that remark, but I know nothing about Bogalusa. Sorry.

Based on it's location, though, I would not be suprised it if were a "fast growing" area.
