Has anyone heard of this series of movies? It was apparently a favourite of my mom's when she was a kid in Poland, and I wanted to get her a copy for her birthday in a week and a half.

However, anytime I find some online, they're either in German or DVD region 2/PAL (not sure if the player can handle that).

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know where I can get DVDs of this movie series that can play on regular DVD players?

Did a search over on DVD Talk and only found one thread that discussed the German version (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread....ight=winnetou). I'm guessing you're out of luck with your hunt. If it's really important, you could always buy a really cheap region-free DVD player. I think you could find one of those no-name brands for like $30.
