And to top it off, in spite of the answer, she still finished in the Top 5.

I actually wandered over to a tv with this on in between sets at the gym and caught this very answer live...it was really cathartic, I felt like brick tamland in anchorman when he sees the panda give birth. "what? ....no! ...I'm so confused! (sobs)"

I do feel bad for her, I think most of us could remember screwing up an interview question or two in our lifetimes.

That being said, I would have been impressed if she spouted off on the uses and misuses of public opinion research data...

...But not as impressed as by the fact that AC Slater, Joey Russo, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch were all on the same show.

This is where Zack freezes everything and says we really shouldn't make fun of hot chicks just because they're dumb. What we should do is come up with elaborate scams to get said hot chicks to go out with him, which is what the pageant was all about in the first place. Now quit linking this or Mr. Belding will find out.

In unrelated news, I never watched an episode of Saved by the Bell.

I posted a transcript of this over in the youtube thread:

Question: Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?

Answer: I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and that I believe that our education, like such as South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like, such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq, and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our..."

This girl is going to end up rooming with Lindsey Lohan in a California rehab center in the next 6-12 months. She's not a user right now, but she will be after getting this plastered on every internet community message board.

As a sidenote, big props to Mario Lopez for keeping a relatively straight face during her entire answer and then managing to thank her at the end without busting out laughing.

Finally, if this girl has a 3.5 GPA, what does this say about her school and our education system?

I think her problem was that the question was a bit out of left field for most of these competitions.

Very true. Most of these questions involve bringing peace to the world or feeding the hungry all over the world...the don't generally get questions about why Americans are stupid.

You can tell that she was trying to get Iraq and South Africa into the answer, so obviously she was coached into working those countries into an answer. Instead, she got a question that they had no business being referenced in the answer of.

With all the ass kissing she probably gets in her life a little rain now and again is a good thing.

Take your top off.

Billy Madison quotes would have been better... "Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it..."

Yeah the next two 'thought provoking' questions were 'At what point in life do you become a grownup?' (Answer: when you don't need your parents help to decide right and wrong) and 'What was the biggest risk you've ever taken in your life?' (snowboarding in canada)

Again, the first chick got the hose.

I'm not even sure if these 'judges' (z-list celebrities) even wrote these questions since they're reading them off cue cards, either that or they were so thought provoking they couldn't remember them.
