Not Much Of A Scrambler are you Todd?

Maybe his dad should have groomed him into a sprinter instead of a QB?

Former USC great, NFL flop, and not-that-bad Arena Football star Todd Marinovich was arrested this weekend after cops say he was hiding almost a gram of methamphetamine, a syringe and a spoon in his guitar case.

According to sources, 38-year-old Marinovich was skateboarding near the Newport Pier in Orange County -- where boarding is strictly prohibited -- when police approached him. Cops say a frightened Marinovich then took off, leading them on a short chase. Cops caught up with the former QB, who was never much of a scrambler, hiding in a carport six blocks away.

Todd has nine prior drug-related cases in Orange County, and was on probation for a previous drug conviction.

Marinovich appeared in a Newport Beach court yesterday, where he plead not guilty to three misdemeanor charges. He will remain in custody until the Sept. 6 hearing.

lol, I agree. I can't picture that. You don't hear of many stories with a former football player skateboarding. And picturing him cowering all balled-up is a funny image.

How dare they call him "not that bad" at Arena Football. He was the quarterback for the Avengers for half the 2000 season. They finished 3-11 that year. He only completed 56.8% of his passes that year, and he had a QB rating of 106.42, which was 11th in the league. The rating is fine, but the completion percentage is terrible. The following year, he completed only 46% of his passes and had a QB rating of 58.95. He ended up losing his job in 2001 to Erik Wilhelm.

Not that bad? Not that bad? That's damn near Ricky Foggie territory. What an insult to Arena Football that guy was. Same with Marinovich.

So... you're saying a failed NFL QB can be the best player Arena has ever seen?

CFL stud Ricky Foggie? He's got two Grey Cup rings and once put up 7 TD's in a game on Labour Day (7 TD's is impressive despite it being the CFL), not to mention being a part of the biggest trade in CFL history when the Edmonton Eskimo's were traded to the Toronto Argonauts (16 players involved total).

Yes, the same Ricky Foggie. He was horrible in the AFL, though. I mean, he was absolutely horrible. The Minnesota Fighting Pike existed for one year, and he was their starting quarterback. Now, I don't want to get into AFL conspiracy theories or anything, but I believe that Ricky Foggie's horrendous performances for the Pike caused them to fold after that one season.

Are you sure he is 38? I mean I know I am getting up there in age (36), but he looks like he is closer to 48 than 38.

Poor Todd Marinovich. He served me well the few times I ever used him in Madden back in the day.

I remember I had read somewhere that his birthday was on the 4th of July and that his father used to tell Todd that all the fireworks were for him. Because of that I used to call him the "Little Firecracker." It annoyed and confused my opponents in Madden and led to a great number of victories.\

Godspeed, Little Firecracker. May you yet find peace...
