Highlander - the Source (there can only be one!)

Reading my Sunday paper this morning and the latest Highlander movie will be on Sci-Fi this Saturday.

Early reviews are not positive (worse than the Quickening) but I'll have to watch it for old times sake (even though the series finaly sucked).

Any other Adrian Paul fans? His MA swordplay improved with each season. He's the only guy I ever thought looked good with a pony tail.

Favorite episodes?

Can't really remember the series too well but do remember when he was in Japan and learned kendo (?) from the old master, which superceded his old European swordplay.

I always dug the Highlander series. Didn't realize there was anything still in production.

My buddy got me a copy of this movie via bootleg after his trip to the Philippines. It's...well. Hrm. I probably could go watch part 2 all over again.

As for favorite episodes in the series, I loved the plots with Kalas, culminating with the fight atop the Eiffel tower- seemed to be the high point of the series. Horton was a good villain, too, but that was a little before the series hit its stride. Also, the plot of Methos as one of the four horseman was over the top but really fun particularly as Peter Wingfield did a great job in most episodes he was in.

The series was pretty good. I watched it for a time.

Highlander 2, the movie, still ranks as the worst movie I have ever seen in a movie theater.

Highlander was always a film which never needed sequels, series etc. imho .... the first film was fantastic, the rest ..... well I haven't seen the series, but the films sucked big-style imho.

(ditto with the Matrix imho - the first film was ground breaking - the others broke wind and little else)

The Highlander CCG was a lot of fun.

I totally agree.

Agreed. Highlander the movie ENDED for crying out loud. It was done, finished. For them to go from the religious underpinnings of the first to some sci-fi alien plot was one of the great abominations of 21st century film making.

There can be only ONE (Highlander film)!

Ouch. It was really bad.

The swordplay was disappointing ... his katana was broken so he defeats the ultimate bad guy using two small swords (ex. ala kali/escrima?).

The movie seemed 'rushed', plot was confusing and the ending was amateurish.

Was Adrian Paul that desperate to get some $? Need to google and see what else he has been up to.
