Weirdest people you have ever seen at a concert

There are two people in particular that come to mind for me.

The first guy was in the front row of a small Peter Frampton concert in Atlantic City. The Frampton fan club was there that night and he was one of them. This guy didn't say a word the entire show. He just kept making these strange "cue signs" and then flashing them to the audience. Near the end of the show Frampton played the song While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The guy made a huge sign and wrote on it 'WEEPS!!!!". After we got home we were curious if we could find out who the guy was. We went to the Frampton fan club's website and found out he was regular there and always did his cue card thing at every Frampton concert. To this day StarBuck and I still refer to him as Weeps.

The second guy was more comical than weird. He was at Madison Square Garden during a Duran Duran concert. He was a short, balding guy in his mid-40's and he was getting drunk off his ass. He was there with a tall woman who was completely disinterested in him. The guy kept falling on his knees in...celebration???....when a new song would come on. At one point he just completely fell over. Everyone around us was just staring at the guy. During one song, Wild Boys, he kept pumping his arms up in the air in rhythm with the chorus line. We refer to him as Wild Boy.

I remember at the Rolling Stones concert at the Cotton Bowl back '90, there was a guy who pulled out a joint the size of a Three Musketeers bar and started puffing away. Once he finished off the joint, he pulled out a bottle of Southern Comfort and downed it in about five minutes. He then sat down and didn't move until the concert was over. No clapping, no cheering, he just sat there unmoving.

Yup, "Wild Boys" and "Weeps", heh good times. There came a point I stopped watching the performers and watched them instead.

I went to a David Bowie concert with my brothers and there were two girls trying to take people's seat. They must have been in the nose-bleeds and we were in the good ones. They tried sitting on guys laps, and would be told to bugger off. After a while, I noticed they had extremely glazed looks and were becoming erratic and aggressive. They were clearly on something by this point. Whatever they took really kicked in.They were pushing men and woman off their seats and people were pushing them back. They began to punch at people. They were clearly out of their minds at this point.

Then they come to us, and the one girl tried to push at us and is practically climbing us like a tree, really farked up on serious stuff. My one brother has no tolerance for "wackies" and said;"get off my sister" and pushed her off of us. She became incensed, her already crazy eyes took on a Trogdor glow and she lunged at him and started scratching and punching at us, she was looking to do serious damage. His hand came back and punched her and landed her the concert floor. She looked up with cartoon stars going round her head and these for eyes "+ +". Security came and with the adrenaline that only the methhead/angel dust freaks have, they began to really go at it with them. Security picked them up and carted both of them over their shoulders and out of the arena.

I once saw GWAR perform. The band itself constituted the weirdest group of people I've ever seen at a concert.

I have to be honest, that doesn't sound that strange to me.

I was at a Modest Mouse show at the San Jose Event Center earlier this year, and there was this tiny girl...she couldn't have been more than 4'10", and she was just convulsing..I mean dancing. She created a one-woman pit with her freaky gyrations. It was funny, because I saw here walking out with her friends, and I expected her to be doing that dancing all the time, no matter what she was doing.

I guess there's one of those at pretty much every show.

I also like middle-aged women, usually sans-bras and with frizzy hair at shows who raise their hands in the air, close their eyes, and start doing that "I AM NOW ONE WITH THE MUSIC" swaying.

I will never get why people spend so much money and effort to go to a show and then get so zonked they don't remember it at all.

I was at a concert last year. There was this one guy who was about 20 years older than anybody else there. The doors opened at 8:00 and this guy doesn't even show up until midnight. When he finally gets there, you'd see him for like three minutes and then he'd disappear behind the stage to do god knows what. And he was constantly swearing, muttering to himself, and making obscene gestures at nobody in particular. He was clearly batshit insane, although I'm not sure he knew it.

All that said, Axl put on a hell of a show.
