Just reading along about Josh McCown on wikipedia -- I frequently do this, read about one thing and click on another wikipage and read about something/someone else and read bios and before I know it I'm reading about Josh McCown-- why?? Anyway, I'm just reading along:

Career

McCown played as a quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals from 2002 until 2005. He was an occasional starter along with Shaun King, but McCown relinquished the starting role to Kurt Warner in 2005. His best season for the Cardinals was in 2004 when he played in 14 games and passed for 2,511 yards and 15 touchdowns.
In the 2006 off-season, McCown was a free agent. He signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Lions on March 16, 2006. He was the backup quarterback to Jon Kitna, and was occasionally used in as the Z (slot receiver), passing Corey Bradford and Mike Williams on the depth chart as the third WR. McCown caught 2 passes for 15 yards when playing wide receiver in 2006 making his career total 3 catches for 10 yards.
After the Lions drafted Michigan State quarterback Drew Stanton in the 2007 NFL Draft, McCown was traded along with receiver Mike Williams to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. McCown started for the Raiders on opening day against his former team, the Lions. He was impressive, going 30-for-40 with 313 yards and two touchdowns in a 36-21 loss to the Lions. Unfortunately, he also threw two interceptions and fumbled late in the game to end the Raiders' attempt at a comeback.

I didn't claim that, whoever edited his wikipedia page did. That's the whole point of this thread, assclown that lives in Cincinnati but isn't a Bengals fan Lathum.

Well, the inflammatory sentence has apparently been edited out. Anyhow, Josh McCown doesn't need that to taint his legacy. He'll do that on his own.

Not quite funny in the same way, but for some reason I was reading the wiki page on football safeties, and I was shocked to learn that it's possible for a college football team to score 1 point in a game, via a "conversion attempt defensive safety". Check it out:

Not only has this never happened, but it probably never will given the rarity of a block, a last second fumble, and a bad choice on the part of whoever recovered the fumble. It is notable, however, for being the only possible way to finish a regulation game with a score of exactly one point in American football."
