College Hoops 2k7
I never bought this game last year, and now it can be had for $20 or so. Is the new version looking to be a big enough upgrade over 2k7 to consider getting, or should I go with 2k7?

I'd wait for the upgrade as it will include quite a few significant improvements:
- Maximum passing in which you can control the type of pass with 4 different buttons. - Lock down defender system that is debuting in NBA 2k8. - On court play diagrams (very important for me.) - Create your own plays (another very nice addition.) - "cell bars" to let you know where your guys are in their "good" shot range. These are just some of the bigger improvements, but I think College Hoops 2k8 is going to be well worth the full price just as College Hoops 2k7 was worth it last year. |

I'd say it really depends on the cash, if money doesn't matter I'd say wait for next year, 2k has been pretty consistently putting out a better basketball game each year so I think it'll be worth waiting.
If you want to save some cash though, College Hoops 2k7 was probably the most played game on my XBox 360 the last year, just a great game, and a steal at just $20. I think the on court play diagrams alone is enough to warrant $40 difference. ![]() |

I'd second the statement that College Hoops 2k7 was my most played game on the 360 last year. It's a great game. I'd also second the statement that on court diagrams is worth 40 bucks to me. That will change the way I play the game.

2k7 is a GREAT game, it has easily seen the most action on my XBOX 360 and still does.
I'm still undecided on 2k8, it sounds promising but I'd like to here some impressions on stuff like CPU FT Shooting. Plus I am really into my 2k7 Legacy. |

Probably the sports game I've played the most since the Nintendo. That's saying a lot. Dig up the thread on it...it's a very solid game. I don't know if I will pick up '08 with all the other great games that have come out/are coming out. I would definitely pick it up if I could continue my dynasty. I'm in my fifth season and am still really enjoying it. It's great to see my Wright State Raiders as a national power and defending national champion

So realism is out the window? I hear ya! (A little known fact -- I was offered a spot on the Wright State cross country team back in the day, but opted to go to Indiana University and give up my running career.)

I think this will be huge as it will really open up the playbook and help keep me from running the stockton-malone move all game. |

Huge for me too and the main reason of me buying 2k8, as i'm pretty happy with 2k7 and maybe wouldn't' buy 2k8 without that. As i can't remember any play, i just play on free style all the time, just passing around until i find a hole. Having the plays drawn on the court will help me a lot to play on a realistic manner, specially in a college hoops sim where strategies are way more important than in the pro basketball game.
