Anyone have this game? I saw it at the BX the other day and it look awesome! It comes out for 360 in November. I saw some of the screenshots on the website, but they don't look like "in-game" shots. Please post some if you have the game!!

This game looks interesting but I was wondering if it was worth getting if you were mainly interested in single-player, a few of the reviews I've glanced at suggest multiplayer is where this game really shines. The graphics do indeed look gorgeous and an RTS without World War II units or futuristic alien stuff sounds like it could be fun.

If I'm not mistaken, it's been pushed back until 2008 for the 360.

I have it for the PC. It is buggy as hell, basically you have to run in 1024x768 in windowed mode at low graphics if you have an 8000 series nvidia card, and several other cards are having other issues as well. Beyond that, the gameplay is great, and I've only done single player. I'd really recommend it if you wait for a patch for all the bugginess. Its actually really nice looking at low graphics in a non-monitor-native resolution.

I have it for the PC and it is pretty awesome. I have not experienced any of the above issues. I have it on a Vista box with an 8800GTS and it runs fine at 1440*900 with most of the settings on high. The single-player campaign has been pretty sweet, I'm actually interested in the story. There are a few things that are odd, like buying units before each battle with the commander telling you to hurry and secure something or other. I have a friend who says multi-player is very difficult if you are not playing with people you can talk to.

The retail game I purchased came with a free multi-player demo copy and key. Mine is already spoken for, but someone else may hook you up. There is also a demo available at http://demo.worldinconflict.com/us/. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to answer them.

I was checking the IGN Holiday Buyer's Guide and found out about this game. I was thinking about buying it (PC version). Any more impressions on the SP campaigns? I'm not really into MP when I play RTS games. Would you recommend it to me?

This game is very good. I bought it a mid October and I've been hooked. Great graphics! Highly recommend it. Make sure you meet the CPU requirements, they are a bit high.

Thanks. I got an Intel Core 2 4300 1.8 Ghz, 2 GB of RAM and a 512 MB NVidia 8500GT. Is that enough to run it at a decent level?

I'm not the most computer savy person. The requirements should be on the World in Conflict website.

Sorry!

Picked this up last week and its the best RTS game I've ever played. I love the fact that you stick to fighting rather than having to farm resources to build your units. Also has an amazing storyline with some jawdropping cutscenes.

Probably one of the 5 or 10 best games I've ever played. Its a must play for RTS fans.

I have heard that the game was pretty much multiplayer rush-type game. The single player is really short and is about like a shooter game campaign is. So, I was readiing that it has almost no replayability unless you are paying it online.

Yep this is pretty much an online only game. It was made with multiplayer in mind. It feels like a FPS, but in an RTS format.

Good game, but I don't really consider this a RTS.

To me, Company of Heroes, Dawn of War or Age of Empires III are better strategy games.

I played Supreme Commander and tried out Sins of the Solar Empire. I prefered WiC to both of those. The campaign is relatively short, but I still found it quite enjoyable. I certainly didn't feel cheated at all. It was refreshing to not have to worry about farming resources for a change. This style of play would probably get old quickly if more games took this approach, but in this case less micromanagement was a good thing for me.

I'm just now getting into multiplayer, but I do enjoy the different modes available. Its not like a traditional RTS by any means, but I've really had a good time with it.

I just picked up Company of Heroes today. No idea why I've waited this long, but with the price dropped to $20 on D2D I figured now was a good time to give it a try.

I finished the single player campaign and I did enjoy the game quite a bit. There was one or two missions I didn't care for and I think the story was nowhere near as good as World In Conflict's, but it was a very good game nonetheless.

I just started playing the expansion and the German campaign hasn't been fun at all. First, just playing as the Nazis feels really weird, no matter what they do to try and give you an emotional attachment to the characters. Second, I just find the mission types to be boring and ill-suited for my playstyle. Still, I'll play through it before starting the Brit campaign.
