A sample of about 10 attempts in a row would be the best way to actually test your reflexes. Just trying to beat your best time on this actually tests your guessing when the color will change and hitting it just right trying to anticipate.
We actually used this thing a few years back on a game server to make some rules about minimum reaction time for a turn based game that was timed. Getting an average of less than 0.2 seconds over 10 trials (10 in a row, one shot at it) is extremely rare, but it happened with a few of the guys that took this. |

Yeh, something tells me you all jumped the gun a little bit. Maybe it's the fact that those times aren't particularly close to being physically possible.

Yes basically anything under 0.2 seconds has an element of anticipation. That's why a forced 10 trial average is the only way to really get anything useful out of this.

I've had a few times where it doesn't even change color. I hit start again and it says I hit start already so I wait a little more and nothing so I finally hit stop and it gives me a lousy time and says it's glad to know I'm still alive.

After clicking start you can click and hold the stop button and when the colour changes you only have to release the button to actually register a click. Could speed up your time.

and if you change your style settings so that the element used for the test takes up the whole screen...

I used the holding down the stop thing and just releasing trick to get a legit time of .174. I got an illegit time of 0.016 by guessing when it would change.
