Talking Starbury... don't let the door hit ya!

As a Knicks fan, I absolutely love that Zeke put his foot down with Marbury. I hope he never steps on the floor for NY again. Woo hoo! I feel like dancin!

At the time, it was worth the gamble. But with the talent that he does have, he still couldn't learn a damn thing from two great point guards who tried like hell to teach him (three, if you count Clyde reaching out to him.) And to baffle matters even more, he seems to get stupider every year!

As PG of the Knicks he could have owned this city.

What a waste...

I hope they buy him out (unless they get an amazing deal for his contract.)

marbury is what he is. the guy could put up 20 in his sleep, and when he was hot he would score 40. no one in the league could guard him. he is not a facilitator, team leader or distributor.

the knicks, in their arrogance, thought they could "change him" and then got sour when he didn't change, or changed and became ineffective because he wasn't distributing the ball OR scoring. they wasted the last of his prime years.

It's times like this that make me proud to be a Georgia Tech grad.

Wait. Did I say proud? I meant nauseous.

they still shouldn't buy him out. i'm sure there's SOMEONE they could get for him. i mean, when you got John Stockton on your bench, sure, dump Marbury. but when you got Nate Robinson and some chump named Mardy Collins, ummm, stick with Marbury and take pennies on the dollar. get a 2nd round pick back even.

just in case Thomas needs an idea, i was able to trade Marbury, David Lee and Quentin Richardson to LA for Lamar Odom, Kwame Brown and Vladimir Radminovic in my NBA2K8 career. he should give it a try.

Not many teams would want marbury for free at this point.

He is on his way to L.A. I expect him to get around 25-30 mins of playing time

This is gonna get ugly. The rumors are that Isiah got fed up with Marbury's play and told him he wasn't going to be in the starting lineup. Marbury then decided if he wasn't starting he was just going to fly back to NY and did so.

Now Marbury is saying he has so much dirt on Isiah that he has no choice but to start him or he's telling everything.

Rumors at this point, but its obvious something big is going on there and they aren't talking yet.

I would actually be very impressed if they told him to jump back on the plane and head back to the Big Apple.

Cavs need a decent point guard. Mavs always find room for scorers. a return to the Timberwolves?

But he isnt a point guard. He is just a shooter, maybe a scorer, mostly just a shot whore. Then there is a problem of how much money he makes. You would have to find a team way under the cap to even be able to dump him for nothing. Realisticly you need to find a team that has similiar contract(s) that they want to get rid of AND be willing to take on Starbury. Good Luck.

Nah, work in a 3-way deal with the Bulls getting Kobe.

Isiah loves trades with the Bulls, after all. We need more Knicks 1st rounders.

SI has an article online about which team could use Marbury.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ure/index.html

My favorite one? San Antonio: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ... yeah, right.

For some reason, that as really funny to me.

The teams I can see are Cleveland, Miami, and maybe the Lakers if they get desparate to add talent in order to keep Kobe happy.

Outside of that, no one. There's no way he goes back to a rebuilding Minnesota team that already has Randy Foye. Dallas isn't happening as they already have Devin Harris and Jason Terry.

Honestly, I think it comes down to Cleveland (and you'd better believe the Knicks would have to take Larry Hughes back) or Miami.

The Heat have enough guards who can't play defense.

there will be a deal done for him. His contract is huge and it's coming off the books at the same time a bumper crop of young guys (okafor, deng, gordon) are FA's. And then the year after you'd have Lebron as a FA (as well as others).

Someone will take the deal, give back something and either live with him or buy him out so they can make a run at those FA's.

so the knicks will trade him away and loose thier best "asset" in the upcoming FA market? no he stays a Knick or gets bought out. plus he stole the pics Isiah was using to blackmail Dolan into keeping his job

marbury wouldn't really be classed as "shooter", more a "scorer". he just shoots a LOT.

as was said, SOMEBODY will be stupid enough to gamble on him. the team i once rooted for [a long, long time ago, albeit the same galaxy], the lakers, does not seem like a completely unlikely destination. what kobe wants, kobe will get.

I'm just wondering what kind of dirt Marbury has on Isiah Thomas. Really, what else can come out about Isiah to damage him? The man allegedly verbally abused a Knicks employee, he essentially singlehandedly destroyed one of the longest-running basketball leagues in the world (the CBA), and he's a punchline as an NBA team executive. What else could you possibly find out about this guy?

This may be tangential to the other issues in this case, but there was an article in today's NY Times regarding where Mr. Marbury was, while he was away from the team...

I'd give you larry hughes and Eric Snow for Marbury. I hate Marbury with a passion, but less than I dislike either of those guys. Hughes has gotta go regardless.
