Watching TV Shows on DVD marathon style
I've been sick as hell this weekend so I've been in my room watching The Wire all day. I'm almost done with season one and have the urge to just keep going until I pass out. It's sick, but it feels so good.
So who has a good marthon session? My buddy watched all of 24 season two in a day which was pretty gross I must say. That's the most impressive one yet. |

Haven't done a season in a day, but usually get together once a month with a couple friends and we watch half a season worth of a show each time. So far we've gotten through all of Angel and Buffy and just finished season 3 of 24.
Blade and I watched all the Godfather movies in one sitting and I've also sat through the entirety of the Shogun miniseries. Really though, for shows like 24, the marathon is the best way to go.

Done both of those. I also have watched all 5 seasons of Quantum Leap in two sittings (although I did fast forward through some of the Evil Leaper episodes). |

This is actually pretty standard for me. I rent a lot of TV shows from Netflix, and I get 5 out at a time, so it's pretty common for me to sit through a half-season (3 or more DVDs) in 1 sitting.

I've done that with Sex and the City, Lord of the Rings, and I'd like to try it with Star Wars.
It's the best way to go IMO I say go for it DeToxRox.. The Wire is so beyond awesome! Oh and feel better!! |

I like watching sitcoms all in a row because I get into the rhythm of the humor and it becomes funnier, like watching a stand-up comic fo rthe first five minutes sometimes isn;t that funny, but then you begin to get in sync.
Perfect example is the Bob Newhart Show. Once you get into his rhythm ist is ht esecond funniest sitcom of all time (Bill Cosby first after rhythm).

This is how I watch Lost. The first two seasons I basically watched each one in a single weekend.

I think some shows are easier to watch like this than others. The Wire is one I could watch straight through. Most others I could only do one or two in a row before it gets fatiguing.

I lived with three of my better friends last year at school and we watched all six seasons of the sopranos in about three weeks. Let's not discuss how my grades were last year.

Starbuck and burned through the first two seasons of Battlestar Galactica pretty quickly. It wasn't in one day. It probably could have been if we had all of the DVDs at once and didn't have to go hunt for them.
We also went through several seasons of the Sopranos and the first season of Alias pretty quickly. Last edited by Ironhead : 12-08-2007 at 11:54 PM. |

I watched a 4 hour marathon of CSI Miami the other night. I was amazed by the camp value, and general shit-tastic-ness of the show, but it mesmerized me.

I went through the first two (point five) seasons of Battlestar Galactica as fast as I possibly could.
Just finished season two of The Office with the last two disks in two days. My favorite is to watch all of Band Of Brothers in one sitting, which is 10 hours I think.
