I'm not buying anyone presents
I'm not buying anyone presents for Christmas this year. Maybe I'll get my mom a little something, but that's absolutely it. I haven't made this declaration to anyone...but I'm just sending cards. I don't have a girlfriend or kids. I'm not doing it to be a Scrooge, it's just that I have zero disposable income right now.
Anyone else ever done this? Did you become the black sheep of your family? |

I wish.
I hate Christmas, just like I hate every other overly-marketed fake celebration. Christmas is all about family? Religion? World peace? Wrong. It's all about spending as much money as you can on buying everybody gifts because if you don't everyone will think you are an asshole. Call me Scrooge, I don't care. But yeah, anyway, now I just need to figure out what expensive piece of jewellery to buy for my girlfriend.

My close friends and I are sponsoring a family (or whatever it's called) where we're all buying gifts for a needy family. Then we're getting together, doing dinner, and wrapping them all together. So, not all that bad on the cost for me but still a fair amount of friends and family time.
