Position Group Analysis

I've been inspired by all the recent combine work to update Draft Analyzer yet again. The new feature I want to add is the ability for you to assign a weight to each bar for each position group, thus allowing you to generate your own score for the player to help rank them. This allows you to find players who fit your individual system. I may also be able to add something like "returner score" or "special teams score" to help find those guys as well.

This works great in theory for position groups where the attributes all have the same weight. But I believe this fails for the above-listed groups: OLB & S. I might favor zone coverage for my free safeties, but run defense for my strong safeties, for example. And a WLB might have a greater emphasis on pass rush skills than a SLB.

Does this generally hold true for others out there? Are there other position groups where this matters? Do MLB/WILB/SILB have different bar preferences for you? What about FL/SE? Anything else?

I may handle this by giving two sets of preferences for some position groups, a primary (for current position) and secondary (for the alternate position), and then allow sorting on either, or perhaps just picking the greater score and flagging it (so you can see that this WLB might be a better SLB in your system). But I'm not going to go to all that trouble if it's not something that matters enough.

Awesome
I consider my FL a more ball possesion guy. avoid drops, 3rd down catching, courage, adjust to ball.
SE is my big play guy. avoid drops, getting downfield, big play receiving.
I differentiate on the OLBs as you do.
Safeties i veiw them the same as you.

I cant wait for this

I'm going to love this, as I also pay a lot of atention to the individual bars when looking for the right personal for my strategies. Most of times i pick lower overall player just because they have the bars as i need them to be.

This would be VERY helpful.

I tend to look through most of the draft looking for the right bars for players, this would be a tremendous help.

That'd be awesome, Greg. I've often made position formulas in excel in conjunction with FOF Extractor to find potential trade/FA targets across the league.

So add WR to the list of secondaries. Got it. Any others?
