Glitch with Salary Cap Settings?

Our league has the salary cap settings at 50 to 65. As explained by the on screen information, these figures are multiplied by $100,000 to arrive at the salary cap increase each year. Given our settings, our cap should increase anywhere from $5,000,000 to $6,500,000. Yet we just started a new season and the cap increased $6,900,000....$400,000 beyond what should be allowable.

I did a test season and changed the settings to 20 - 20. Once again, at the beginning of the new season, the cap increased $6,900,000.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, what is the solution?

have those always been the settings as far back as during the season in which the TV contract was signed?

Yeah, the increase doesn't change every single year. The TV contracts that control the amount of increase last around 5 years (don't know the exact range). Throughout the contract the increase is the same.

I also believe that in your test season you would have began in the middle of a contract, not the last season of one. So sim seasons until you get a message saying you have started a new contract, then see if the change matches what it should be.
