fast simming for years to get universe history

My SP career seemed to come to an abrupt halt last night ( http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/...ad.php?t=63145 ) and I am going to start off anew.

I've seen some people start off their career years down the line in order to get some league history in the books. What is the best way to go about doing that? For example, is there a way to not control any team for 20 years, then come in and take over the worst? Do you get graded for the GM for those years? What settings make the quickest sims? Do I still have to hire coaches? What tasks can I not sim around?

Thanks for the input.

Does anyone have a good answer for this? I tried to do it on my own but wound up being fired...

You are stuck with the team you pick unless you get fired. Set everything to scout control and just start advancing weeks. There is no "good" way to do it.

You can turn off the firing option at the beginning of your career, if that's a main obstacle. But overall, this game is *very* unfriendly to doing anything like this.

Is it possible to take someone's saved game and continue from there? I know there are people on this board who like to play from some point in the past (1970, 1960, etc.). Could I ask them for their game save file and continue on from there with a different team?

That would give me some universe stats...

If I can figure out how to send a save game file, I could give you mine from the 1960 Dolphins on thread after I complete the 1986 season.

If you're interested, that is.

To me this would be one of the primary additions to make in a new version of the game. I dislike starting off a career with no league records or history, and it would add to the flexibility of creating interesting leagues to be able to fast sim.

I like the alternate solution of sharing saved game files. We could create a library of "starting universes" for people to pick from.

I loved how easy it was to do this in FBCB. I'd sim history from 1937 up until 2004 (turning 3pt shots on in 86), then pick the worst team in the nation and go from there.

I have had no issues getting 200 years history in the past....

Axife Mouse Recorder

Set it up and let it run for a few hours, and presto, lots of history.

That's a really good idea Nogram, I'll have to check that out. Looks like the program only costs $10 bucks for the cheapest version.

Very easy to work with Nogram, the only tricky part I've found is that a screen like the staff hiring one has a few different boxes that might not appear every time, depending on who you need to hire. How did you get around that?

Outsource and hire *nationality deleted* to do this for you.

Or you could set up an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of computers and one would come up with the actual NFL history. This way would cost a lot more, but Jim would thank you for it.

For the staff hiring, do 4 slow clicks where the 'yes' would be, just make sure the clicks are slow enough that it doesn't open the staff's detailed card.

Yeah I ended up doing that, and it worked, but FOF crashed when I had the recorder run like 15 times.

It has happened to me too, but it will work, I have a history league with 200 seasons.
