Yeah, that's not meant as a serious recommendation since I don't know anything about the company or the industry. But this product just completely blows me away. It really is awesome.

They did a pisspoor job of keeping inventory available during the holiday season. Some of it is probably our purchasers as well. Great product, however.

I bought a Garmin before my move from San Antonio last January and I've never regreted the purchase for a second. Fantastic to have when making a 2,500 mile drive with a 5 year old.

They can't make anything that warns you about/routes you around low clearances or restricted routes. I say they are pointless until then, or until next week, whichever comes first.

Not where I live. To many borderline rural areas with new development, and too many odd addresses or changing addresses. Nothing against the Garmin in that though, it's just where I live. It can be hard to find some things, overall though a map works just fine, or streets and trips.

The thing I don't like is the fastest speed feature. I always wanna get the high score on the machine.

The Garmin Forerunner 305 is what I use for running - the ability to track pace, distance, heart rate, splits, elevation, calories burned and then view your run online is pretty awesome.

Of course, the Forerunner 405 is even sweeter.

I used to think the same way, but now I prefer being able to focus on the road and traffic without having to look for street signs or look down at a map.

I have a Nuvi 350 and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. When I travel for work, I'll always do a Map Quest for backup. (I can always get a map if I need one at a gas station) It's let me down once in the last 1 1/2 years.

It's also great to be able to find places to eat, movie theatres, stadiums, airports, etc. with just a few clicks on the screen.

I'd be lost without it.

With our TomTom, my wife was an immediate convert when it started saying things like "in 2 miles, stay right" on the highway. When travelling through cities you've never been in on an interstate, knowing which freakin' lane to be in is the worst nightmare, and the GPS got rid of it. It's worth it over a map for that one feature alone.

I didn't put much thought into this, and they aren't ranked:

1. Colecovision
3-6. cats
7. dog
8. That futon I had from 1990-2003
9. Toyota Camry

Pretty solid list, though I'd vote Intellivision instead of Coleco. Loved that damn horse racing game.

I'm glad I asked. I totally need to get a scrabble dictionary. Does it have 'xi' in it?

Not sure, I'll have to check (don't have it handy at the moment).

Excellent point, and now that I think about it, the Garmin Street Pilot does the same thing on multi-lane freeway interchanges. It will tell you to keep to the left or move to the right to make sure you don't get trapped in the wrong lane.

Any Scrabble dictionary should have "xi" in it, along with all the other two-letter words. If memory serves me correctly (and it probably doesn't, as I haven't played Scrabble regularly in about 10 years), those words would be:

AA, AB, AD, AE, AG, AH, AI, AL, AM, AN, AR, AS, AT, AW, AX, AY, BA, BE, BI, BO, DA, DE, DO, EF, EH, EL, EM, EN, ER, ES, ET, EW, EX, FA, FE, GA, GO, HA, HE, HI, HO, ID, IF, IN, IO, IS, IT, JA, JO, KA, LA, LI, LO, MA, ME, MI, MU, NA, NE, NO, NU, OD, OE, OF, OH, OM, ON, OP, OR, OS, OW, OX, OY, RA, RE, SI, SO, TA, TI, TO, TU, UH, UM, UN, UP, US, WA, WE, WO, XI, XU, YA, YE, YO

I may have missed one or two, and I probably put two or three on there that don't belong. Like I said, it's been a long time.
