Error when trying to run the game
I have a new machine that I just built. I am running WinXP Pro 64-bit. When I try to start FoF (new install) it gives me the following error:
Sorry, could not get a license at this time. Please try running this program later. 23 0 Ideas? Last edited by Yoda : 01-18-2008 at 01:43 AM. |

This could be obvious...but you entered your license...right?

Maybe it couldn't connect to the e-license server?

I turned off the windows firewall. If it can't connect, it's not from my end.

Weird, I read this as "Error when trying to run up the game"
I'd email support at Solecismic. |

It would not surprise me if elicense didn't like 64-bit windows, but you'd need to ask them.

I've e-mail both sole and elicense.
No word from sole- just got an e-mail from elicense and them wanting to me run some data gathering file for them. I'll post how it goes incase anyone else has the same issue. |

Still having issues. Got an e-mail from elicense, asking me to stop the License service, delete it, and then run their patch. Still hasn't helped and still encountering the same error.

This is finally resolved.
I want to take a moment to heap a LARGE amount of praise on the elicense support. I tell you what, for the past week since I've been dealing with this issue, I have received at least 2 emails a day, going back and forth on working this out. I've read post from people (while I was researching the problem) that bitched and complained about how horrible it was. I am here to tell you, it was top notch. And it was resolved tonight. (it took a manual removal and adding of a new version of their runservice and .dll and manually registering the .dll) I big, huge, THANK YOU. Now I just have to figure out the licensing issue because I have FoF on both my laptop and PC, and when I PC died, I couldn't unlicense the game. But at this point, I am happy enough to buy a new copy of the game if I have to, lol. |

I've never had a probelm with elicense. I've asked them to restore my licenses numerous times without even a "you know we've done this a zillion times for you" or "how do we know you aren't just cheating us", and they've always been real helpful with software issues. Now, I wish we didn't have to use a license type registration at all, but thats a whole other arguement for a whole other day.
