Revenge via email???

OK, so I have been dealing with a company for the past 2 1/2 weeks...the item I purchased from them was damaged, so I sent it back for a warranty exchange. To make a very long and involved story short, they have totally clusterfucked everything - sent the replacement to the wrong address, and then charged our account for something we'd already paid for. Their "customer service" department is a joke, and after a week of dealing with the account manager and getting NO resolution, I've taken matters into my own hands, emailed the President and VP of Marketing, as well as filed a complain with the BBB. However, I now have a personal vendetta against this woman and would like revenge. My thought is to launch a full on attack of her email, and put her on every spam list/viagra ad/porn ad/etc...that I possibly can, but I would like to remain anonymous (for obvious reasons) and would like to not have to spend hours and hours signing her up for stuff one by one. Does anyone know of a great way to quickly and effectively accomplish my goal????

I don't really advocate going at anybody in that way....
but if you wanted to try to get some resolution, you could try writing into Consumerist.. http://www.consumerist.com
I wish I knew about them when I was having my car issues last year

Yeah, I know it's not the most mature way to handle the situation, but the woman has been such an outright bitch to me that I'm just past the point of being logical and reasonable.

Hopefully my emails to the "higher ups" this evening will kickstart this getting resolved, at this point they owe us $292, so it's not something I'm just going to walk away from. I had been putting off filing a complaint with the BBB as I was hoping she would accept responsibility and resolve the issue, but that clearly wasn't going to happen.

What ever did happen with your car BTW?

It might be possible to use her email address to find her actual address, which would open up much more interesting possibilities for revenge.

Just brainstorming here...

Thanks! I pride myself at maintaining a level of maturity at all times!

Seriously, I work in Customer Service, so I know what it takes to provide good customer service, and it's really not all that hard to respond to a call/fax/email, even if it's just to let that person know you are working on resolving their problem. Not listening and ignoring the situation is NOT the way to handle it...and once you get to dealing with someone at an Account Manager level, well it's unacceptable to be told "it's not our fault" when it's so clearly their fault. I can't even begin to tell you the nightmare this has been, they have fucked up things I didn't even know could be fucked up!

I've been a Help Desk Manager for about 5 years - which is part of why I commend you, especially knowing what it's like, for being the adult in this scenario - BRAVO!

Okay, I admit I've done this once, but a little differently. I signed them up to every service possible when I went to a Science conference once. Legit email addresses probably made it past their spam server. I got all the free goods, they got the soliciting emails. I was happy, the revenge was sweet.

That is what I figured...

I haven't made a final decision, if my emails from tonight get results then I'll let it go and just not worry about it. But if she continues to lie and drags the process on even longer, then I'm seriously considering doing something. I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me, but I'm fairly confident that everyone here has been "this mad" at someone and at least considered taking action, no matter how immature, to feel that they had gotten back at that person...

I had a PM for a manufacturer that I used to contract for that was a real jackass...a few of us would sign him up for all kinds of things. It was great.

It kind of became a series of mini-games...things like signing him up on waiting lists at restaraunts, leaving his name & contact info on suggestion cards at hotels, inquiring at sperm banks and needing them to call back, etc. Great memories.

If you don't get the service you expect next time you have to deal with her, ask to speak to her manager. If she is unwilling to give you her manager, let her know that you have contact information for the President (and feel free to share that contact info) and are willing to get to her manager by starting at the President and working your way down...her choice.

Stuff like this is why I still buy primarily at Brick and Mortar, unless the deals are way too good to be true. A 30 day(or thereabouts) return policy usually prevents you from getting stuck with a pile of shit. Xbox 360 or Rockband excluded of course.

You should check the state and federal anti-spam and anti-harassment laws. It's quite possible that what you are attempting to do may actually open you up to criminal prosecution and a civil lawsuit for thousands of dollars. It's probably 0.1% chance of that happening, but something to think about anyways -- stay anonymous for sure.

I would assume it is likely.

We had serious issues with a car dealership several years ago and they tried to screw us over. I wrote a letter, got it notarized, and sent it to his supervisor, the BBB, and threatened to take it to the media. They took it serious and backed off.

I know email is the fastest way to get things done, but receiving a letter in the mail and cc the right people, has a lot more impact IMO.

Terrible idea. Even after you get past the immaturity and just plain evil aspect of the plan, you have to confront the fact that less than 1% of your e-mails are going to get through her workplace spam filter. And the possible legal repercussions.

You need to reconsider and handle it like a grown woman. Confront the bitch and pull her hair out.

not to mention that I'd assume the customer service person or company has her information as well. now maybe that's cool if you like a legion of midget strippers showing up at your door.

OK, the issue has been resolved, the email I sent to the Pres and VP of Marketing got the job done and they have corrected everything by doing what I nicely and politely asked them to do over 2 weeks ago.

To all the negative posts here, yes it was an immature thought, and yes, there was a better way to handle it...which I did. When I posted this originally I was pissed off. I had been calling, leaving messages, sending emails and faxes for TWO weeks and not one person from that company had called me back. And once the account manager did call me back, she dismissed my request, despite my sending over TEN pages of backup documentation showing how they had f'ed up, and then she proceeded to ignore me.

But anyway, it's over, I didn't do anything to her or her email account. But I did get a bit of satisfaction at the thought of her getting chewed a new one from the 2 higher ups and asking how she could have just ignored the situation and let things get as bad as they did. Whether or not that is what happened in reality, it's what happened in my mind

A friend of mine runs a car detailing franchise (pretty sure it's a nationally famous one). He got new credit card machines for the register recently and the place that he got them from was nothing but a pain in the tush. They didn't work right and the support number would not help him. Basically gave him the run around and told him it wasn't their problem. Then they stopped returning his calls altogether.

So my friend does a little checking with the answering service that this guy that stopped responding uses and finds out that it costs him 50c per message they receive. He calls back and leaves him a message saying it is about to be his cheapest option to respond to this call. Of course he doesn't.

So my friend gets 3 cell phones and starts hammering the messaging service with calls (he talked to the messaging service ahead of time and warned them that he was going to do this--they thought it was hilarious). He called 300 times the first day. The answering service started answering the phone with "there's another 50c."

By the end of the third day of his calling, he had cost the guy over $400. He finally responded and they fixed the credit card machines.

I should tell you about his trip to Best Buy sometime and why he is no longer welcome at Best Buy.

Hey I gave up the one good story I remembered most of the details for!

The gist of the story is that he bought something at Best Buy with cash, like a camera or something. A few hundred bucks (he makes movies for a living). He then tried to fill up his tank on the way out of town to a shoot and his credit card was rejected. So he needed the cash he just spent because his first priority was to get to that shoot. He heads back to Best Buy to return the item, but they won't give cash. They said they can do store credit or mail him a check or something, don't remember exactly what they could do, but whatever it was, it wasn't useful to him in getting the money for gas that he needed immediately. The issue was the amount. Over something like $100 they just can't do cash back on a return.

So he gets store credit and goes and empties out their display of AA batteries. Buys them with his store credit. Then he returns each battery pack he bought, one at a time for cash. They told him he wasn't welcome back in the store anymore. He told them he hoped they could find a way to help future customers so he wouldn't have to find a way himself anymore.
